  1. Past hour
  2. We lost the trade and ironically, it doesn't have to do with that trade. We lost because we didn't make the Burns trade. A QB ransom for an edge rusher, that while good, was not in the elite class. Making the Burns trade would have given us 2 future 1sts and a 2nd to barter with while keeping our own picks. Taking this trade was so obvious that even us lowly Huddlers knew it was a mistake to reject it. We also knew we were going to have to trade up if we wanted to get to one of the top QBs in the draft and you need ammo to do that. We could likely have swapped 1sts, added the future 2 Rams 1sts, kept the 2nd and our 2nds, kept Moore, and had an immediate WR1 for our rookie QB. Also, having our 2024 1st we could have traded away to gain several picks and likely recoup what we gave up in the Bryce trade to begin with. We could have done a trade down and still picked up picks and drafted an edge rusher to replace Burns. While this doesn't address the players taken themselves, I am more than confident in saying we lost the trade because we set ourselves up for failure before the trade was even made.
  3. And it's not just his college position coach, but it's the person who's school receiving yards record T-Mac broke, while he was coaching him. We hired Wade going into this season and apparently the first thing T-Mac said to him was that he was going to break his record this year, and then he did it, freaking LOVE it. You'd think there could be some sour grapes when you lose your longstanding record, but all year long, all Wade did was talk about how excited he was to see T-Mac break it and that he was going to help him do it.
  4. Good to hear. Hopefully it just provides more fuel to his fire.
  5. Smitty's response is exactly the problem a lot of people have with Smitty. A college position coach is just sticking up for his kid and Smitty immediately takes it personally and just outright attacks him. At least he's doing it on YouTube now instead of breaking noses but it just shows that Smitty hasn't grown in that regard.
  6. They are treating him like an NFL starting QB. Like he's one of the 32 best QB's in the world. Let's be honest though, there's really only 3-5 great QB's in the NFL. Another handful of really good ones and then another handful that you can possibly win with. Does Bryce land in that middle group or the last one.
  7. I'm not sure when they have to be down to 90 but I assume 5 or 6 maybe are going to be cut before camp even gets here. I assume these invites do not count at the moment but will if they are signed.
  8. I have listened to Smitty's reviews, especially the one on Mingo, and Smitty was still positive but still decidedly noncommittal at the end of the day. He never ever said that Mingo was going to be some great receiver. Y'all need to be truthful.
  9. As I said in another thread, the majority of his "work ethic issues" stem from that McShay report, that is pretty widely assumed/known in the Arizona community that it was our POS old coach who was throwing shade because he was upset that T-Mac and Fifita didn't follow him to Washington. In 3 years at Arizona, there was never a single shred of evidence or mention that he had work ethic issues.
  10. I think its the other way around he has been wrong a few times and people hang onto it.
  11. Smitty is out here guessing like everyone is. He's wrong a lot for sure, but not wrong all the time. That being said, he should know that it doesn't even take blazing or even great speed to have a damned good career. He was the little man who played like a big man. Loved his effort (even though he admitted that he took plays off at some point during his career)! I think he's growing though...hopefully. He's particularly hard on receivers that he perceives as not putting in the necessary effort. On an off note: Truthfully--being totally honest--If there was another asshole receiver just like Smitty, I'd draft him in a heartbeat if I were a GM and had the opportunity.
  12. I'm not saying he's wrong on all of his projections, he's right on some, no doubt about it. But I'd say he's been way more wrong than right when evaluating WRs over the last 5 years or so, I'd consider that regularly in my book, but to each his own.
  13. As I just said in another thread... Without this trade, T-Mac is not a Panther. I don't need to know anything else other than that, we won this trade, or maybe I just did, who knows, but I don't care because I'm still floating on Cloud 9.
  14. And yet you can't name the backups who are better than him.
  15. I have seen some suggestion that T-Mac has issues with work ethic. I hope those reach his ears and he takes that as motivation to work extremely hard to be dominant.
  16. I'm not throwing anymore shade at Tmac, hope he becomes a great player for the Panthers
  17. I’m pretty much fuging over this guy. He’s got himself on wayyy to high a pedestal. Also…see Jonathan Mingo.
  18. I think we should have tried to iimprove our QB room. Dalton as a mentor is fine but I don't want him playing long term. We should always be trying to improve, even in the backup QB spot. I'm more concerned about the team than a year one particular player. Look at Purdy, Dak, and Brady. All young backup players that had success once they had an opportunity to injury. Players that started moving forward. Jimmy G was a backup that was traded for a 2nd. These are exceptions to the rule, but you'll never find the gem if you never look. We should be developing multiple QBs all the time. BY is the starter for now but should always feel pushed. I don't want the team to fall apart if BY suffers an injury. Next man up. Always try to improve the caliber of players on your team.
