Jeanty drops to 8. Cowboys give us 12 and 44 to move up. We pick Williams at 12

In the words of the great Kevin Costner... Tetairoa McMillan no matter what
-
The point is if the Lions believe he has that potential and think he can keep his head straight, then trading him isn't an option because of how good he'll be the next 2 years on a rookie contract. And if they are the ones looking to trade him, it's because they don't believe that will happen, hence the red flag it raises.
-
It's the reason they want to trade him before he does something else to get suspended from the league for a year. You do not want to trade for that kind of gamble.
-
If we trade for him, I can defend him for all that. If we don't trade for him, I can't believe the Lions would let him play with all that going on!
-
Better throw Mason Graham and Walter Nolan in the mix. Maybe even McMillan and Membou in that group as will. They have interest in all of them
-
I'm deciding between Tyler Warren, Mykel Williams, Donovan Ezeiruaku, and Jalon Walker.

it does not exist now because we try to draft for need/fit on a team that has holes everywhere everyone talks about how great Marty Hurney was in the first round & if you go back & look the one thing that made Marty Hurney so good in the first round was he always took BPA. & here is another more recent example of BPA Dan Morgan drafted BPA just last season when he traded up in the 2nd for an injured RB that was the BPA at the time on most big boards

I could see the Browns passing. The Gaints have been too desperate and unpredictable in a bad way since they signed Dookie to a big contract.

When team building, coming away with 3+ solid/very solid starters is FAR more advantageous than getting 1 stud and 1 third stringer. Here’s how that hurts more than it helps. Team is dog doo and manages to sh*t their way in to a generational stud in the draft. The team is still really really bad, but dude on his own studness wins a couple games the team really didn’t deserve (strip sack defensive TD, win by 2)… because he is a man among boys. future draft position while he is doing his thing is now royally screwed. You’re supposed to be 1-2 win team but with him … now a 4-5 win team. That sucks. Dude is on his way to the HOF, our team is stuck in purgatory. I want to trust the draft savvy of the shot callers, but right now I have a really hard time doing so. Please go conservative, Dave T/Dan. Trade back for a mid round 1st swap, get their second and next year’s third. Go BPA in first 2 rounds and draft for need in rounds 3+. This draft HAS TO come away with at least 3 quality starters to begin a ‘window’ build.

If the Giants and Browns do not take a QB, they could be offering picks 33 and 34 plus a third and a future first.

Why does this forum still say 2023 NFL draft?
Panthero replied to Panthero's topic in 2025 NFL Draft
Agreed. We are the voice of the woiceless......... like Mousilini -
Intriguing for sure but too fragile. His play style made it an easy hard pass for me.

So why is Goff signed through 2028? It's because they're building a roster to win now and in the future. You can do both. Having to build up a roster over years and pushing the chips in for one year is a recipe for continual rebuilds with a very high chance of not getting a Super Bowl win in your all-in year. It comes down to getting a return that is greater than what they value him. You do that by hoping a team assumes the potential you speak of is an eventuality. Also, you look for a trade partner that is in desperate need of skill players who are willing to overpay (e.g. Panthers). Trading him can benefit the trade partner and the Lions at the same time.

I think that most of the draft ups for position 8 or better will have already played out before we get to our pick. Could we trade back into the first round? Maybe...
-
fug it…give me Schwesinger off the top rope.
-
Even with such a slam dunk of a pick, there will be many huddlers claiming it was a horrible pick and Morgan has no clue what hes doing
-
I was intrigued by Richardson pre-draft but good lord after he asked to come out of the game because he was "tired"... oh hell no. We're done.
-
Sprint to the podium for Tyler Warren and then don't look back. Grab defensive players for the rest of the draft after that. Don't pass up on the best player at his position and one of the best in this draft just to fit some need.
-
I'm pretty sure they will barring something that hasn't been made public yet.
-
Using Warren as a smokescreen makes sense. Thinking Warren fixes their QB situation is just ignoring the root of their issues. No way would I bet on Richardson staying healthy.
